GLORIA DEI
Lutheran Church
OUR LEADER
Under the leadership of Pastor Tomas Angon, the Gloria Dei offers educational outreach programs, provides training for members of area congregations, meets human care needs in the regional Latino community, organizes short term mission trips, and raises awareness and support for missions work, both nationally and abroad.

GLORIA DEI
Gloria Dei Hispanic Mission, a Lutheran congregation of Spanish-speaking Christians in Lake Station and Valparaiso, Indiana.
For over thirty-one years, Gloria Dei has proclaimed the good news of salvation in Christ alone to Spanish-speaking people in Valparaiso, obedient to Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations by baptizing and teaching them.
Gloria Dei holds Spanish-language worship services in Lake Station, Indiana, at 8:00 am on Sundays and at 11 am in the All Saints Chapel of Immanuel Lutheran. From time to time, Gloria Dei joins Immanuel and other Lutheran congregations in Northwest Indiana for bilingual worship services.
Christian education is offered for children on Sunday mornings, and adults meet on Friday nights for Spanish Bible study and fellowship.
Gloria Dei maintains a visible presence in the community and seeks to promote cross-cultural appreciation and friendship. The children’s folkloric dance troupe learns traditional dance and takes pride in sharing their Hispanic heritage with the community. Dressed in brightly colored costumes, the children delight the audience with their performances during the annual Cinco de Mayo dinner. On Good Friday, Gloria Dei leads the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross), a reenactment of Jesus’ passion that takes participants on a procession through downtown Valparaiso to Valparaiso University’s Chapel of the Resurrection.
